Education
The community has a long tradition of including young and old in its routines and activities. Condon’s schools are well known for their low student-to-teacher ratio and personal attention to student needs. Our proud tradition of embracing education at all levels is reinforced by the fact that no less than two former students went on in later years to earn three Nobel Prizes – Dr. William Parry Murphy in 1934 shared the prize in Medicine for developing a cure for pernicious anemia and Dr. Linus Pauling in 1954 in Chemistry for his molecular structure studies and again in 1962, the Novel Peace Prize. Countless other Condon alumni have distinguished themselves in fields of medicine, law, business, education and agriculture. The community’s number of students who continue on to secondary levels of education remains high.
